The name of the Designated Teacher for Children in Care and Previously in Care is Lynn Cox.

The Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the Prevent agenda is Lynn Cox.

The Senior Mental Lead is Michaela Wright.

The Child Exploitation Lead is Lynn Cox.

The named Safeguarding Governor is Dave Wright.


The named Whistleblowing Governor is Maria Ashurst.

At Copper Valley Academy, the context of the school means that staff training considers safeguarding children in a rural area, understanding that concerns may be raised right from Nursery age and involves working very closely with other agencies, such as Early Help Hub and the Police. Staff are vigilant when visitors are on site and of security measures relevant to the school's physical layout and location. All visitors MUST report to the site office to sign in.
The Juniors is on a split site for Years 5 and 6 in Gunnislake village. 
Both provisions have Level 3 safeguarding trained staff and share information to ensure that all children are on the correct site at the correct time.
